I think I’m one of the luckiest persons in the world! Haha, maybe that’s too much, but it’s true that I’ve been lucky several times. Name them; Nuno Bettencourt’s guitar pick that fell right on one of my folded hands during the Extreme concert, got iPhone 3G with a good price (don’t count the day when it was stolen), got many requests approved at work without many difficulties, and the latest one so far was a bamboo wacom given by one of my expat coworkers at school.
I can tell that this is more than just a luck. I guess, this is what so called an answered prayer. So the story is, I had been so frustrated working on the school year book. With only 3 students, many curvy ornaments, almost nothing was finished, and less than 6 months before the deadline, I was stressed out. I knew I needed a pen tablet to help us work more efficiently, but that was not on the school budget. And requesting it would be my last option cuz I had requested a non budget item for buying a book about layout design which was more urgent.
So I decided to use my own saving to buy one. It wasn’t easy to decide about that because I knew that I would only use it for the school. But for my effective work’s sake, I would do it. I talked to some people at school who knew about the tool and asked one of them to help me buy it if possible. But it was still only on the plan. Later on yesterday, I planned to go to the electronic center in town to buy one. I was already in the area, but suddenly the mood was gone and I went home. I thought I was just being lazy, but I guessed that was the right thing to do cuz today at work, I was given one, the better one than what I could afford!
Now I have the thing at my home to learn. I need to first try it before tomorrow I’m going to bring it back to school. I have made some silly sketches and that was fun. I hope that this won’t be the temptation to keep me at school by the time I have to leave later, but I’ll just make use of this tool for exploring my work to the max. :D
