Today is a history!
After more than 10 years of not having any physical education, I did a sit-up race at school. I didn’t sign up -of course. Me? Sit up race??- but the student who was supposed to be there didn’t show up. Right one second after the whistle blew, I jumped in and began. I teased my team, “This will require a prayer (cuz I never had a good record at sport - except chess :D)”
Then I closed my eyes, didn’t think of any, didn’t listen to any but focusing on what I was doing. Back then, I only knew that I just had to do it really quickly before my stamina broke down. So I did it. I heard many people cheering my name because I was fast. I got disqualified in many counts because my hands were loose, though. And I didn’t win, though. Well, don’t compare myself to my students who do sports twice a week (reason! =P). But in fact, that was the best sit up I ever did! I never did more than 10 in a row as a student, but today I got 36 in two mins..not included the more than 10 disqualifications. Not bad for an old teenager. haha!
I won’t think of doing it again, but it has made me think of how many situations like this have happened in my life. And I just realized that I’ve collected quite a number! I mean, things that I thought I couldn’t but I actually can. Many people say, “you gotta think ‘you can’”. And how hard it is! But I guess I have found another formula. Instead of forcing the head to think that I can, it’s easier just to just do it and focus. Esp for people who often think too much -like meeee!- we sometimes need to be told “just do it!”
