how does it sound?

July 1, 2011 (Bandung - Bekasi)

Hope it’s not too stale. I should’ve written it down right at the time, but oh well, it’s just more practical to write on my PC at home.

So, I started the day with… breakfast. Ahaha, that’s gonna be far too long. I started the trip at Cipaganti Dipatiukur in the afternoon to travel to Bekasi together with Tika. Ejin was already there so we decided to have that town as our preparation point. We were packing and unpacking and packing again until we’re ready to go.

More or less, here’s what we prepared:

- Money. Yes, it’s ‘ours’. We collected money before the trip and we paid all things together (except in Singapore). It’s just more practical. A little difference is nothing compares to doing calculation on every expense. We’re on holidays, man! Not a math test! Haha!

- Medicines, vitamins, tissue, plastic bags, toothpicks, cotton buds….

- Cereals for emergency

- Shower kit, body lotion, and sunblock. We also shared this.

- Camera. We used my cam as the main cam for documentation, but Ejin also had the little one for back up. It’s not easy though to carry a big shooter everywhere =P (bilang saja malas, cus! Hehe, bukan malas, tapi berat…jadi malas berat-berat)

- All booking documents. Of course!

And here’s what I prepared personally:

- Extra money for back up and some more cash for things I already planned to buy beside our main needs.

- ID card, passport, and credit card.

- Warm jacket

- Flip flops

- Umbrella

- Sunglasses (Tika also brought a giant hat. Awesome!)

- A blogbook to write the travel journal

- Some movies on iPhone (soooo useful later!)

- A pen! It’s important for the immigration documents.

- Some clothes and pants. I prepared clothes less than the amount of days. More than a week traveling? Better find a laundry than burdening my back. Anyway, Tika and Ejin brought swimming suit, but I chose to wear shorts and tank top. Let dry with the wind =P

- Balinese sarong. It’s useful for the beach as well as the nights when the air-con was too cold.

I think that’s all. We didn’t have any Lonely Planet book. We didn’t even have everything booked that day. There were many rooms for the “I don’t know’s”, but we don’t need to know everything either. So it’s all about “let’s go and let’s see”.
