We should check in at 3 o’clock in the morning. Too bad, I couldn’t sleep before. I don’t want to blame the mosquitoes. Maybe it’s because I was enjoying the wifi on bed too much =P
Around 2.30, my uncle drove us to the airport together with my aunt. God bless Air Asia! That coach was sooo laris manis. The immigration also had a long queue. I guess we knew why we’re told to check in 3 hrs before boarding. Gosh! Indonesian people are rich!
10 AM, Malaysian time, we’re finished with all the baggage claiming and ready for Georgetown. We took a cheap bus to town and we had our first confusion in the language gap. Either English or Melayu, it’s just hard to understand what the people were saying. But finally we reached the hostel before 11, at Old Penang Guesthouse in Georgetown.
The next plan was waiting for Tika’s friend, Rovita, to guide us around. But she’s a bit longer than what we expected, so we just enjoyed our lazy time inside the hostel. We named it Silent Hostel. The owner gave ‘sssh’ sign so sharply when he was showing us the beds. And there’re many signs telling about how we should respect the ‘silence’ there. Good for Tika. She must have been sleeping well there. Hehe.
Rovita came at around 3 and she took us for walking around the hot Georgetown. We found some buildings, took pictures, and tasted cendol. Next, we took the bus to Batu Ferringhi to see the beach. Well, I gotta say it’s just so and so. Indonesian beaches still rock! We dined around the beach, took the bus back to town, and were trapped in the rain. So what’s the umbrella for? That’s why we called ourselves Tres Idiotes because we brought umbrellas, but we’re wet.
