Having a trip around Lebaran? Never been on my plan before. But when the spontanity comes together with what so called adrenaline, what can I say, I might give in my savings for it.
At first, I was only thinking of visiting a near place. Name it, Pelabuhan Ratu. I’m just desperate for finding more objects to capture, so I don’t care. As long as it’s new for me and has some views, I’ll do it. And then later, Lombok was so tempting. But everybody knows it would be so crazy if I took that trip. How can I get that much money for the flight tickets, and don’t count the accomodation, transportation for getting around, and so on.
And here the spontanity goes. I suddenly caught one of my college friend’s name on YM and just hit him, asking questions like how are you and where are you living now. Actually I feel bad because we’ve never been in touch for… maybe years! he lives in Bali right now. He replied and said something like ‘hey, come visit here’. I knew it’s just a kind of greeting, but I said ‘I will’. That’s the beginning. I started to find a ticket to leave..which was still affordable for a peak season, but not the returning ticket. So here I am today, with plenty of plans about Bali and also seeing an opportunity for Lombok, but I have it all in uncertainty.
My friend’s name in Bali is Acong, not a real name but that’s how I call him. He will let me stay in his kost for a couple of days and maybe we’ll do some short travels together during the red dates of Lebaran. But after that, I’m clueless. My heart wants to getaway to Lombok, but I’m nervous, a bit worried about the safety in Lombok esp for a woman traveling alone. I’ve been lucky so far. I can stay in Acong’s place when I’m in Bali. If I make to Lombok, my colleague’s friend also already offered me a stay. Now what I need next is a companion to travel around. Since I can’t ride a motorbike and renting a car is way too expensive for one single person, so I definitely need one. Over my detail and ideal initerary, I put finding a partner as the top list. Yusni, Tiko, and Regine are failed to join. And the last person that I ‘bargained’ for it was Matt, my new friend who came visiting my town several weeks ago. He’s still in Bali and also has a plan for Lombok.
So, we’ll see what happen next. But I’ll take my need as a prayer. *nerve*
And everybody says…. AMEN!
